Tattooed | Declan Maynes
Austria, Ireland, Swiss, USA, England 2008 | 100 MIN.

Irish film-maker Declan Maynes has absolutely NO film making education. He has never attended film school or academies. He bought a Panasonic DVX on e-bay followed by his next purchase ' Film Making for Dummies' and set out to make a film. He took a year out from managing his Tattoo Studio in Vienna to meet up with artists, doctors, musicians and basically anybody who carried a tattoo on their body. The result was 'TATTOOED'. A full length documentary completed in 2008. It was completely self financed and self produced. TATTOOED features interviews with the worlds top Tattooists and musicians who all have something to say about why so many people today, are choosing to decorate themselves with what once was considered the lowest form of expression known to man. Even an in depth interview with the expert who inspected 'Iceman Ötzi' The Oldest mummie in the world, reveal the connection between his B.C. tattoos and the origin of acupuncture.
Tattooed is simply a collection of proud people discussing why they choose to carry what they love for the moment on their bodies forever.

Remarkable Power | Brandon Beckner
USA 2008 | 95 MIN.

Los Angeles. With the plug about to be pulled on his late night talk show after a fifteen year run, and his wife engaged in a steamy affair with a pro baseball star, host Jack West (Kevin Nealon) is desperate - to keep aflame his fading celebrity, and avenge the misdeeds of his adulterous spouse. With the clock ticking, Jack concocts the mother of all media stunts, killing two birds with one unforgettable stone on the road to redemption. The scheme entangles an eclectic collection of colorful locals navigating their way through unpredictable twists and turns. A plump private eye (Tom Arnold) teams with a macabre web-mistress (Nora Zehetner) to investigate the strange disappearance of a dead body. A glassy-eyed cheddar head (Evan Peters) falls prey to a phony get-rich-quick guru (Christopher Titus). Imperiled actors (Kip Pardue & Dulé Hill) embark on a quest for a fresh corpse. Cops in costume, a peculiar special effects make-up team, porn stars with dreams of stardom, a Jewish drug lord with very large brothers, Russian mobsters and others converge in this unique roller-coaster ride of comedy, mystery, murder and mayhem through the underbelly of modern day Sodom and Gomorrah.
