He spends his time listening to old political speeches. Lewis goes outside when his Grandmother dies. When Lewis wanders the streets of the Crenshaw district, he is oblivious to the agitated urban life and meets 16 year-old Javi in the process of robbing a market. Dana's portion focuses on Thomas, a black youth poised to move up from the hardships of low-income living. As the two go about their filming, John documents the process, adding another perspective. As the filming progresses, both the subjects of the documentary as well as the filmmakers are confronted with challenges that cloud their objectives.
